--> Go to the pinned post on Facebook to record your answer in the comments. QUESTION 1 Today’s challenge will bring you back to the early 1940s with the introduction of a prominent figure in aviation history. Elsie MacGill was the first chief aeronautical engineer in the world, and was responsible for the development and mass production of some of the most well known aircraft from this time. Using the Canadian Aviation and Space Museum’s online exhibit, which outline’s MacGill’s career, answer the following question: Link: https://artsandculture.google.com/exhibit/elsie-macgill-the-first-female-aeronautical-engineer/NAJyCXBYhbzZKw?hl=en “After leaving her position as Chief Aeronautical Engineer at Canadian Car and Foundry (CFF) MacGill opened an office in Toronto where she continued to work on many prominent projects. During this time which popular aircraft, still flown today, did she work on converting from a military transport airplane into a civilian aircraft? In order to claim the point for your flight you must be the first to answer the question correctly, posting a picture of the aircraft with your response. Once the correct answer is posted on Facebook, cadets who post an interesting fact about Elsie MacGill will earn a half point for their flight towards the challenge. For cadets who will be attending post secondary school in the fall, we are now accepting applications for the following bursaries:

Need a break from online school? Want to simply relax and chill. What a better way than to color. The squadron training department has been hard at work to find aviation coloring books for you to enjoy. They are located on our squadron website at https://www.5cycloneaircadets.ca/aviation-coloring-books.html . To promote this new activity, Capt Tanguay is sponsoring this spring's Aviation Coloring Book Contest. The rules are simple. Produce an original artwork based on the supplied coloring books or any other aviation related coloring pages online that is royalty-free (Google is your friend to find some). The artwork must be hand made by a cadet. Submissions are to be scanned and sent as a jpg file to [email protected] before 1 May 2020. The winner will be announced soon after in May. The prize for the best artwork will be An Aviation FactFile on Military Helicopter, a hardcover book by Robert Jackson. 5 Cyclone/Cadets/Aviation themed artwork In another effort to engage cadets we want you to show your creative side, and we are calling on all cadets with an artistic flair to create some 5 Cyclone/Cadets/Aviation themed artwork to be used in some future squadron publications or even on our social media pages. You can create the artwork in any medium you prefer, whether it is hand-drawn or painted and then digitized or digitally rendered art created graphically directly on your computer. The rules are as follows:
Here is an example of a design that was made by Captain Tanguay for the Drill Team Social Media - Cadet Profile For those that have been keeping track of our social media posts on our public Facebook page and Instagram, you may have noticed that we have introduced a new series this year where we profile current 5 Cyclone Squadron cadets on Social Media. So far we have profiled 8 cadets, and these were some of our most liked posts! We are looking for more volunteers for these posts on our public pages. If you would like to potentially be profiled on our social media pages, please fill out the following form. Please give as much detail as you can in your answers. If you are chosen for a profile, the Social Media team will let you know and ask you if you have any favourite cadet photos you would like us to use in your profile (otherwise, we will find some in the squadron archives). This is completely voluntary, if you do not want to be profiled, you do not need to answer. You can fill out the form here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSe3VwwYC72VepIoxUHvEvdPbcgSSSyhRp8rKQMLK-2uIMhPkA/viewform?fbclid=IwAR1_p0fjHzD9FmRiGv162Grxuz46buf615DP6mi3Qm7ph9ZaBUKRIzR6kn4 Cadets, Parents, Volunteers:
